7,000 police officers will participate in an operation in CDMX

During the return to school next Monday, August 29, the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City (SSC) will deploy almost 7,000 elements for the surveillance operation, the institution itself reported.
The SSC detailed in a statement released on Friday that 6,800 uniformed personnel of the Preventive Police, the Banking and Industrial Police (PBI) and the Auxiliary Police, as well as 200 of the Undersecretariat of Traffic Control, will participate in the surveillance tasks for the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year of basic education (preschool, primary and secondary).
The capital government will also deploy one thousand 900 vehicles that, together with the uniformed, will do monitoring and review work on roads, transport routes and points near schools.

Another 150 elements of the Undersecretariat for Citizen Participation and Crime Prevention will monitor some school circuits, such as those corresponding to revolution and the Republic of Chile.
One of the objectives of all this deployment, according to the SSC, is to help the vehicular flow to be agile.
“The SSC recommends that during the start of face-to-face classes, sanitary measures such as the mandatory use of masks and healthy distance, schedule their transfer times, do not park in prohibited places or in double rows and respect the indications of the Transit personnel,” the agency said.

In the nation’s capital alone, 1.2 million basic education students will return to the classroom on Monday. Nationwide, it will be around 24.5 million.
