Demand our Right to the City through citizen participation

The City is the urban area made up of inhabitants with economic activities associated with industry, commerce and services; the difference between cities and other urban entities is given by population density and legal status.
Having the Right to the City means that for justice and equality, it belongs to us, that we can inhabit it, use it, occupy it, transform it, govern it and enjoy it in a fair, inclusive, safe, sustainable and democratic way.
In this sense, it is the authority that should guarantee our right, but given the complexity, lack of experience, resources and political will, a system of co-responsibility is necessary where organized civil society, business groups and of course the government at all levels are integrated.
To demand our Right to the City is to review and carefully analyze whether or not we have public services that are of quality (water, electricity, drainage, garbage collection, internet access, public transport, public education, public health service, among others), otherwise, our representatives should not be angry at the accusations and demands of a society lacking basic elements for a dignified life; having a critical mass is a great opportunity to be a better ruler and not to draw frustrations and courage.
The Right to the City is of special relevance for those population in conditions of vulnerability and disadvantage and it is precisely the protection of these groups and people that implies the need for special measures for their protection and integration into the urban reality and for access to the distribution of economic resources, essential services and the protection of all forms of discrimination.
May we not be afraid to raise our voices and point out what is evident in each municipality of our State;  it is part of democracy and that we are less afraid to get involved in an orderly manner in the solution of each social problem, executing affirmative actions to encourage citizen and collective participation in the affairs of our City.
