Almost 5 years after 19S, they double reward to locate the DRO of the Rébsamen

The Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City offers a reward of one million pesos to anyone who gives information about the whereabouts of Francisco Arturo Pérez Rodríguez, who was Responsible Director of Work (DRO) of the Enrique Rébsamen School, collapsed by the earthquake on September 19, 2017.
The authorities increased the reward from 500 thousand pesos, which was offered in March 2021, to one million pesos.
Pérez Rodríguez is wanted by the authorities since he is charged with the crime of intentional homicide since he was working as a DRO when one more floor was made over the school.

The earthquake of September 7.1 caused the collapse of the school located south of Mexico City, and the death of 19 children and 7 adults, who were buried under the rubble.

On October 14, 2020, Mónica García Villegas, who was director of the Rébsamen, received a sentence of 31 years in prison for the crime of culpable homicide.

While a judge sentenced Juan Mario Velarde Gámez to 208 years in prison, responsible for granting the responsive to obtain the certificate of structural security that was key to the irregular functioning of the school.
According to Mónica García Villegas, in 2014 the architect Juan Mario Velarde, Director responsible for Work; the Civil Engineer, Francisco Arturo Pérez Rodríguez, structural safety correspondent; and the architect Juan Apolinar Torales, DRO, certified and informed the tlalpan delegation that the buildings were in conditions of use.
