A migrant dies in a hotel in NL in INM operation

A migrant from El Salvador died when she fell from 10 floors of a hotel located in downtown Monterrey, when she allegedly tried to avoid being arrested during an operation by the National Institute of Migration (INM) and Civil Force of Nuevo León.
The State Prosecutor’s Office reported that, according to the initial investigation and the version of the employees of the Yamallel hotel, around 0:32 a.m. members of the INM and Civil Force arrived to carry out a review of the legal stay of the guests.
Accompanied by hotel employees, the staff began with a review of the rented rooms.

When they arrived at room 1003, the reviewers asked the hotel workers to open the door, which was closed inside.

Immigration personnel forced the door and upon entering they realized that there was no one, but the window was open. As they peeked out, they realized that there was a woman on the third-floor terrace.

According to the first inquiries, this room was occupied by a woman who registered as Yenifer of about 30 years, originally from El Salvador, who was accompanied by a man and three minors.
Authorities are investigating whether the woman accidentally fell or decided to jump in.
