Te Deum Evangélico focused on the increase in violence in the streets and a call to “encounter”

“All the violence that is in our society we are addressing and we must continue to do so,” said Camila Vallejo, minister of the General Secretariat of Government (Segegob) when leaving the Evangelical Cathedral of Puente Alto where she celebrated the Evangelical Te Deum. 
This morning President Gabriel Boric arrived in Puente Alto to attend the Te Deum Evangélico – which began at 11 a.m. – together with his ministers. It was a ceremony of thanksgiving and where the evangelical bishops addressed the authorities highlighting the high level of violence in the streets and the need for encounter.
President Boric and his partner and social scientist, Irina Karamanos, were in the front row. Behind them sat the ministers. And throughout the ceremony, on the front line and on stage, was the Lutheran chaplain of La Moneda, Izani Bruch.

“We pray for harmony and tranquility in our nation, for the conflicts and evils that exist such as the violence that has been presented with increasing force,” asked Bishop Emiliano Soto, High Representative of the evangelical and Protestant churches.
“There is an issue of security, there are issues around social justice, to end the different types of violence, economic violence, political, all the violence that is in our society we are addressing and we must continue to do so. And along obviously with those who have belief in the different churches that do an important job beyond what the State does, it is recognized and valued, because it is the task of all, and certainly also of this Government, “he said after the ceremony. 
“Sir, we know that crime is surpassing the authorities at this time. We pray that there will be strict control of drugs and other evils that have their origin in the hearts of men,” Bishop Soto added. 
“We pray for President Gabriel Boric, that you Lord will give him strength in the midst of any circumstance, that no matter how difficult it may be, you will give him wisdom and necessary intelligence, in every way and especially so that you place in him justice necessary to make the best decisions for the good of all Chileans so that we can live in peace and stillness in the country.” Said. 

“Give the intelligence and wisdom to our authorities to make the best decisions that allow them to eradicate violence,” Bishop Jorge Mendez said.
The president of the Pentecostal Methodist Church of Chile, Bishop Edmundo Zenteno Céspedes, was in charge of giving the message on behalf of the evangelical people. In that sense, he called on Chileans to dialogue among themselves to seek solutions for Chile. “The country is demanding solutions. And the solutions are not only on one side, they are on all sides. We have to change this spirit, this way of feeling adversaries,” he said.
