Santiago del Estero: An 11-year-old girl died when she fell into the void from a zip line

An 11-year-old girl died in Santiago del Estero after falling into the void from a zip line. The girl was on a school field trip with her schoolmates. The justice investigates the fact arrested the owner of the place and his son, who were in charge of the property at the time of the incident. The incident occurred on Thursday morning as part of a school excursion on the occasion of the spring day of the 5th grade division of the Institution of Our Lady of La Salette at the Aspha Tisi campsite. Everything was happening normally until at 10 in the morning the tragedy happened.

Part of the harness was hijacked by the Scientific Police

The 11-year-old girl identified as Guadalupe was jumping down the zip line, as were her other friends, but this time her harness broke and she fell into the void. She was immediately rescued by local employees and school officials who called 911 to transfer her to a health center. Guadalupe had several wounds and injuries from the impact and before being referred to the Hospital her prognosis was delicate. When the victim entered the Comprehensive Health Center they tried to revive her, but she died within minutes of arriving. At the moment the result of the investigations is not known but Carlos Vega, the prosecutor who is carrying out the case, has two hypotheses: negligence or a technical failure. The investigation also seeks to corroborate whether the property had the relevant authorization. Although for now it is not known exactly what led the child to fall from such a height, the preliminary results of the autopsy confirmed that she died from “internal wounds, especially in the abdomen area, and that especially affected her liver, which caused internal bleeding and subsequent cardiac arrest.”

Vega filed for an arrest warrant against the owner of the venue and his son, who was in charge of the property at the time of the incident. The Aspha Tisi campsite is a few kilometers from the Termas de Río Hondo and the capital of Santiago.” It is not known if it was not fastened properly or the harness broke. He arrived at the hospital with a harness since he was kidnapped, as well as all the elements of the zip line to be subjected to expertise,” the prosecutor told a local media outlet.
