According to the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, in the first three hours of voting 130 people were temporarily arrested for various violations of electoral laws, ranging from propaganda activities in favor of candidates to alleged attempts to bribe voters.
For his part, Lula voted in Sao Bernardo do Campo, Sao Paulo region, where he trained as a union leader in the 70s.

In addition to the president, governors, deputies, a third of the Senate are elected and the regional legislative assemblies are renewed.
