Singer Tini Stoessel was chosen to give a show at the opening of the South American Games in Asunción. However, in the middle of the show, the Argentine artist was the victim of ridicule from Montse González, Jorge Vera and Eva Rodríguez. Journalists had their microphones open when they commented on the artist’s body. The video with the journalists’ comments quickly spread on social media. There were heard phrases such as: “Look at his navel, I ask you to see”, “I don’t want to look. I’m going to have nightmares” or “Now I understand De Paul.”
Faced with repercussions and rejection from Tini’s fans, Paraguayan drivers were forced to apologize publicly. In that sense, Rodríguez said: “It was a mistake, I accept it, I admit it. I feel bad, I feel sorry. It was never in my intention to harm anyone. It really was a misplaced comment. It was something we didn’t think aired.” For her part, González said: “I feel bad, I feel sorry. It was a totally misplaced comment, it was something we said to think about, we joked. I wanted to apologize.” Finally, Vera remarked that she talked about Rodrigo De Paul and not about the singer’s body. In that sense, he remarked: “My comment was for De Paul, because I understand that Tini is a beautiful, successful woman and a great artist.”
