Sister of the president of Ixtapan de la Sal, Edomex, kidnapped

Ana Lilia Ocampo Ayala, sister of the municipal president of Ixtapan de la Sal, Edgar Ocampo Ayala, was kidnapped on Monday morning when she was inside her business in the State of Mexico.
According to a report by Telediario, witnesses said that armed men arrived at the La Guadalupana pharmacy in the municipality, and then took the woman away in a black Chevrolet truck.
The Prosecutor’s Office of the State of Mexico said that it is already investigating the case, so that personnel of the institution “develop respective proceedings” in the case.

#Investigación. The #FiscalíaEdoMéx investigates the alleged deprivation of liberty of a person that would have occurred this day in the municipality of #IxtapanDeLaSal, so that personnel of the Institution develop respective proceedings of these facts.

“In January, February and September of this year, the Municipal President of Ixtapan de la Sal would have been threatened and extorted by the now detained, who allegedly demanded an economic sum in exchange for not causing him harm and letting him work,” said the Mexican Prosecutor’s Office.
In 2014, federal authorities took control in 13 municipalities, including Ixtapan de la Sal, in the State of Mexico, where municipal agents were disarmed, before an investigation by the federal government sought to determine if the municipal police had links with organized crime, specifically with the criminal group Guerreros Unidos.
