According to what the local aquarium reported, four sea lions that had to be rehabilitated after presenting different conditions and pictures of malnutrition were returned to the sea on the coast of the city of Mar del Plata.The specimens -Rafael, Temai, Félix and Julio- were released around noon on the beaches located at the southern end of the spa complex of Punta Mogotes.The animals returned to the sea after being rehabilitated by the technical team of the Center of Rehabilitation of Marine Fauna of Aquarium Mar del Plata.From the Aquarium, they specified that Rafael had entered the rehabilitation center on August 2 from the beach of Torreón del Monje, with a picture of hypoglycemia and a strong enteritis. For his part, Felix received care since July 23, after being found in Camet with “an important parasitosis”. Temai, a puppy derived from the Temaikén Foundation, had been found lost on the shores of the Río de la Plata, with very low weight. And Julio was transferred to the Marplatense aquarium by the Provincial Wildlife Guard Service from Mar Chiquita, with a picture of malnutrition. After receiving different treatments and achieving his definitive recovery, this last stage of rehabilitation was arranged, which the specialists defined as “a second chance at life”.
