Alleged members of Tequileros threaten to fight for control

Alleged members of the criminal group Los Tequileros, which is credited with last week’s massacre in San Miguel Totolapan, Guerrero, threaten to carry out acts of retaliation against La Familia Michoacana, as well as to try to take control of the Tierra Caliente region.
In a video released on social media Sunday night, a group of men with their faces covered say they will join with other blocs to go against La Familia Michoacana, in particular, against two of its leaders identified as ‘el Fresa’ and ‘el Pez’.
“I’m a tequila maker and I’m going forward,” says one of the men. “I’m going to crack them…”, he adds, while the others cheer him on and shout.

Animal Político asked the Guerrero Attorney General’s Office about this video, its authenticity and whether it is being investigated, but did not immediately receive a response.
The recording comes days after an attack in San Miguel Totolapan killed at least 20 people, including Mayor Conrado Mendoza and his father, former Mayor Juan Mendoza.

Authorities attributed the shooting to Los Tequileros and, in that context, a video was released of José Alfredo Hurtado Olascoaca, ‘el Fresa’, alleged leader of La Familia Michoacana, who in the recording assures that the aggression was directly against him but he was able to flee.
The Guerrero prosecutor’s office said in this regard that it analyzes that video and will integrate it into its investigations.
After these events, possible clashes have been reported with dozens of dead both in Guerrero and in the neighboring state of Michoacán and even in Jalisco. However, authorities have so far not given official information about this.
