The Minister spokeswoman of the Government, Camila Vallejo, clarified statements about the crime of Carabineros Sergeant Carlos Retamal, after the dissemination of a video edited on social networks. Representatives of Chile Vamos, such as former Minister Mario Desbordes (RN), accused the Secretary of State of “defending the aggressor.”
“Particularly of those who were present at that time, who we have no doubt was never in their intentions, many who witnessed and witnessed the facts, that a person killed by this police procedure ended,” says the spokeswoman in the video cut from a press point, made yesterday.
Subsequently, Minister Vallejo shared the full statement on her Twitter account. “The first thing we need is to find the person responsible, so that justice begins to operate and then the corresponding sentences can be applied. For that we obviously need the collaboration of everyone, particularly those who were at that time,” he said.
In addition to the above, he commented that “our Government is and will continue to work with the police, that is, it is our daily task and particularly the Ministry of the Interior. But we need much more effort so that the person responsible is imprisoned, is convicted.”

Vallejo also wrote in the publication that “the brutal murder of Sergeant Retamal horrifies us and we expect the law to act with all its weight. Cutting my words and insinuating that I am on the side of the aggressor is serious, it is lying. I am confident that different sectors will be united defending democracy, security and justice.”
One of the critics of Vallejo’s cut statement was Desbordes. “Such an assault is to cause very serious injury and even death. That’s eventual pain at the very least.
