Armed group kills 12 people

The wave of violence in Guanajuato continues, on the night of October 15, an armed group broke into a bar in Irapuato and killed 12 people.
According to the authorities, around eight o’clock in the evening a report of firearm detonations was received in a bar located in the 12 de diciembre neighborhood, so elements of the Citizen Secretariat moved to the place.
“Paramedics confirmed the death of six men and six women, in addition to three injured,” the Guanajuato Security Secretariat reported.

So far there are no detainees; however, the authorities of the three levels of government are already carrying out a search operation to find those responsible.

Violence in Guanajuato
The wave of violence in the state has intensified in recent weeks. On September 21, an armed group attacked a bar-billiards in the municipality of Tarimoro, Guanajuato, killing 10 people.

Last August, armed men murdered the son of the mayor of Celaya. According to information from the authorities, the attack was direct and about 15 shell casings were found at the scene.
The events occurred on 2 de Abril Avenue, in the Villa de los Reyes neighborhood, in the parking lot of a pharmacy of the Guadalajara chain.
The governor of the state, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, regretted what happened and requested a prompt investigation by the State Prosecutor’s Office.
