Mar del Plata Film Festival: programming, tributes and activities

From November 3 to 13 comes the 37th edition of the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, which will begin with an opening tribute to the iconic filmmaker of the seventh art, Jean-Luc Godard: through the screening of his debut film “Breathless”. This year’s meeting promises a complete return to face-to-face, after a 2020 that was held virtually due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, and a 2021 that was carried out in a hybrid way. The program will be extended to all movie theaters in the city, with general tickets at 200 pesos, with special value for retirees and students at 100 pesos.

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the departure of Leonardo Favio, you can see several of his great films both with a special event at the Auditorium on November 5 with “Juan Moreira” (1973), and at the Teatro Colón where it will be possible to attend with free admission and in 35 mm to enjoy “The Dependent” (1969) and “Nazareno Cruz” and the Wolf (1975).

There will also be dedicated Spotlights and Retrospective for the French filmmaker Patricia Mazuy, the also Japanese actress Kinuyo Tanaka.
