FAUNA 2022: The Artistic Festival of the University of the Arts is back

FAUNA, the Artistic Festival of the National University of the Arts, returns from November 10 to 13 in the City of Buenos Aires, with free admission. FAUNA is a biennial event in which the languages, expressions and artistic practices of all the disciplines that take place at the UNA intersect. After two years of pause due to the pandemic, FAUNA returns in its fourth edition to bring the best of the artistic productions of UNA students and graduates closer to the public, with an extensive, inclusive and increasingly federal program. For four consecutive days, between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m., the public will be able to walk through a circuit linked by three venues, the Borges Cultural Center, the Payró theater and the Federal Investment Council, as well as an outdoor stage and activities in open spaces, to attend the more than 200 works that make up the program in its 2022 edition. With more than 400 artists and 193 works selected on a A total of almost 1,000 applications in 17 artistic areas, the public will be able to immerse themselves and travel, in a distance of two blocks, a program in which the arts cross their own borders. In addition to the works of students and graduates, selected by a committee composed of 48 artists and teachers divided by areas, you can see artistic productions of the companies, groups and ensembles of the Departments of Movement Arts, Musical and Sound Arts and Folklore; works made by students of the UPAMI Program and the presentation of the Chair of Integrative Dance, dedicated to inclusive artistic creation for people with disabilities. Full of novelties, this 4th edition of FAUNA will have the Educational Area, a space for workshops open to the community on cultural mediation, project design and communication tools for artists. There will also be a meeting with representatives of the national universities of the metropolitan region to think about the relations between universities and artistic-cultural production. An outstanding activity is Memories and Stories of Malvinas, which will have the participation of teachers and graduates of the UNA ex-combatants and reservists, in memory of the 40 years of the Malvinas War.
