Benito Cerati began his solo career with “Shasei”, an album of ten unreleased songs, inspired by his experiences during adolescence, the intensity of the first love encounters, mistakes made, the passage of time and the coexistence between nature and technology. For the composition of the new material, Benito was nourished by ambient music and spy movie soundtracks, achieving an album with a baroque sound and many space, nocturnal and sensual layers. “Hole Black” and “Good Morning Love” are the two songs that Benito chose to advance the range of musical and aesthetic colors that Shasei’s track-list promises. “It’s a pretty mysterious, nocturnal record. Deep down it’s the most pop I’ve ever done, but at the same time it’s where I explore the most genres. There is a bit of tango and folklore, some elements that I took from classical music, another bit from the romantic ballads of the seventies, ambient, vintage movie soundtracks, electronic music of the 90s, loaded with loops and samples…”, commented Benito about the color palette of “Shasei”. The album has the following songs: “Tu espada en mi”, “El atardecer”, “Hole negro”, “Futuro incognito”, “Cemento”, “Shasei”, “La luz mala”, “Buenos días amor”, “Virus” and “La tercera es la vencida”.
