Bariloche will host the 36th National Meeting of Women in 2023

Bariloche was designated today as the venue for the 36th National Meeting of Women (ENM), as announced this morning at the Parque de las Naciones, in San Luis, where around 4,000 women gathered to reflect on feminisms at the 35th meeting. on stage the final decision was disputed between La Pampa and Río Negro, which finally prevailed with the city of Bariloche. Likewise, it was possible to know that the next MNA will have a total of 76 workshops.

La Pampa argued its candidacy by pointing out that the province never hosted any meeting and that it is “the capital of abolitionism.” Meanwhile, the representatives of Rio Negro said: “We come to propose that the headquarters be Bariloche, Rio Negro, as we did in the meeting held in October, where we participated and told our life experiences, our sufferings and our struggles.” Likewise, the women present there recalled the Plurinational Meeting of Women, Lesbians, Trans, Transvestites, Bisexuals, Intersex and Non-Binary that took place in October and brought together more than 130 thousand people. “That meeting happened days after an atrocious event, such as the repression and eviction from their territory of our sisters and compañeras of the Mapuche People, along with their children,” the spokeswomen said.

In relation to the requests for unity, the “urgent” desire for reunification was expressed “in a single next meeting.” “This year we are witnessing the division of the meeting, something that has saddened and weakened the powerful movement of women and feminisms in our country,” she said. 
“We need the meetings to continue to be engines of our struggles and contribute to blocking the way to the reactionary sectors that work to divide us by pretending that we retreat in our rights and in our conquests.”
