Park rangers rescued an injured woman in the Lanín volcano

A woman suffered an injury to her tutle when descending through a sector known as “Espina de pescado”, of the Lanín Volcano, and was rescued by a team of park rangers, as reported today by authorities of the national park located in Neuquén.The accident occurred yesterday afternoon, when “the park ranger of the area received notice that a 60-year-old woman, a native of the province of Buenos Aires, she injured her ankle while descending,” Lanín National Park (PNL) said in a statement. After receiving the notice, “the corresponding rescue protocols were activated to attend to the victim who was transferred on a stretcher to the Information Center” of the property, according to park authorities. Park rangers, the group specialized in high mountains of the National Gendarmerie, authorized guides of the Lanín National Park and individuals participated in the evacuation tasks. In turn, for the summer season, Lanín National Park asked those who wish to carry out a mountain activity to previously register in the ranger sections or information centers; choose the route according to physical ability and experience; and plan taking into account times of ascent and descent in relation to daylight hours.
