Classes and public transport service suspended

Due to the record of shootings in the city of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, classes and public passenger service were suspended.
Inhabitants of the municipality have shared videos where detonations are heard at various points.

This morning, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador reported that there were clashes after the capture of an alleged leader of a criminal organization, so the shootings in Nuevo Laredo were given as a “reaction” to the capture.
“Today at dawn there was a confrontation in Nuevo Laredo, a person who was the head of a criminal group was arrested and there were reactions, but that arrest has already been carried out and there are elements to show that he was responsible for other violent acts in that area,” he said without giving more details.
Cancel activities 
The U.S. Consulate General in Nuevo Laredo canceled its activities due to the insecurity.

In addition, he added that all appointments scheduled for this November 28 would be rescheduled.

Meanwhile, the delegation of public transport in the border city reported the suspension of urban service due to the risk situation.
“Due to the situation in the city, for the moment the Urban Public Transport service is suspended. We are in constant communication with the Dealers to restore service as soon as possible.”

Given the situation, the municipal president of Nuevo Laredo, Carmen Lilia Canturosas, announced the suspension of classes at the basic level.
“Updating family information, authorities of the Regional Education Center (CREDE) inform us that classes at the basic level have been SUSPENDED, to take care of the integrity of the student community,” wrote the local president on her social networks, shortly after 07:00 hours. ”
So far, state authorities have not issued information about what happened.
