Arrested in Oaxaca the person in charge of work of the Rébsamen School

Francisco Arturo Pérez Rodríguez, Director Responsible for Work (DRO) of the Enrique Rébsamen School, collapsed by the earthquake of September 19, 2017, − where 19 children and seven adults died −, was arrested in the municipality of San Juan Bautista Guelache, Oaxaca. 
According to information from the National Registry of Detentions of the Federal Security Secretariat, Pérez Rodríguez was arrested around 05:13 hours on Thursday.
Pérez Rodríguez is charged with the crime of intentional homicide since he was working as a DRO when another floor was made over the school.

It is expected that in the next few hours he will be transferred to Mexico City to be placed at the disposal of a control judge.
On September 6 of this year, the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City increased the reward from 500 thousand pesos, which was offered in March 2021, to one million pesos to anyone who gave information on his whereabouts.
They offer $1 million pesos to locate the person responsible for the work of the Rébsamen School

On October 14, 2020, Mónica García Villegas, who was director of Rébsamen, received a sentence of 31 years in prison for the crime of culpable homicide.
While a judge sentenced Juan Mario Velarde Gámez to 208 years in prison, responsible for granting the response to obtain the structural safety certificate that was key to the irregular operation of the school.
According to Mónica García Villegas, in 2014 the architect Juan Mario Velarde, Director Responsible for Work; the Civil Engineer, Francisco Arturo Pérez Rodríguez, structural safety correspondent; and the architect Juan Apolinar Torales, DRO, certified and informed the delegation of Tlalpan that the buildings were in conditions of use.
Pérez Rodríguez was in charge of granting the structural opinion, in which he endorsed the support of the weight to build an apartment where Mónica García Villegas lived.
