INE orders to stop campaign in fences in favor of Sheinbaum towards 2024

The Complaints and Denunciations Commission of the National Electoral Institute (INE) ordered to stop the campaign of graffiti of fences and advertising on social networks, which promotes the head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum, towards the presidential elections of 2024.
Given this, the Institute ordered the president of the capital that, within a period of no more than 24 hours, publicly dissociate herself from the campaign and ask her supporters to refrain from conducting behaviors that seek to influence the 2023-2024 electoral process.
Which includes, that they refrain from the placement of fixed propaganda or campaigns in social networks that position the name or surname of the head of Government, since “it could constitute anticipated acts of pre-campaign and / or campaign”.

The measure was taken after the deputy of MC, Jorge Álvarez Maynez, and several citizens filed complaints about the painting of fences and placement of tarps in different parts of the country with the use of the phrases “#EsElla”, “EsClaudia”, and “So that the transformation continues”.
As well as for their participation in different events in which, they allege, anticipated acts of pre-campaign and campaign are configured, improper use of public resources, personalized promotion and improper dissemination of their work report.
The plaintiffs requested precautionary measures and preventive protection.

According to the INE, the text with which Sheinbaum would have to demarcate himself is:
“The undersigned has been aware of the existence and use of the hashtag #EsClaudia in different spaces of Mexico City and other cities of the country, either through canvases, painting fences or social networks. In that sense, again and as I have done on previous occasions, I categorically affirm that neither a servant, nor the government that I head have a link, direct or indirect, with the phrase “It’s Claudia” similar phrases, or with any aspect related to its dissemination. ”
The message must be published on the website of the head of government of Mexico City https://www.jefaturadegobierno.cdmx.gob.mx/, as well as on their social networks, both personal and institutional, in a visible and fixed place.

Regarding the two matters where the attendance of the head of government to various events in different cities is denounced, the INE Commission determined inadmissible the precautionary measure related to the conferences given in different states, considering that the federal electoral process has not begun.
He warned that, with regard to the improper use of public resources, in all cases, it is up to the Specialized Regional Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Power of the Federation (TEPJF) to resolve the merits of the cases.
