Santiago del Estero: they arrested a man who was circulating with more than 21 kilos of cocaine

A man who was circulating with more than 21 kilos of cocaine, which were hidden among clothes under the glove compartment of the vehicle, was arrested in the province of Santiago del Estero by members of the National Gendarmerie (GNA), sources of the force reported today. The procedure was carried out by members of the “Frias” Section, dependent on Squadron 59 “Santiago del Estero”, who carried out a road prevention operation on kilometer 1,030 of National Route 157.There, they stopped the march of a private vehicle from the Salta city of Oran with final destination the province of Córdoba. The gendarmes observed a garment coming out from under the glove compartment and, in this situation, the driver tried to flee on foot through a private field, although he was immediately apprehended. According to the sources, the troops contacted the Federal Court of Santiago del Estero and the Federal Prosecutor’s Office, who searched the vehicle and extracted several items of clothing in the area of the torpedo, which wrapped rectangular packages of similar characteristics to those used in the transport of narcotics. When conducting the Narcotest field tests, the Criminalistics and Forensic Studies personnel confirmed the existence of 21 kilos 248 grams of cocaine hydrochloride, the sources said. In turn, the troops found a nylon bag with 16 grams of marijuana and 129,670 Argentine pesos in cash.
