Yesenia, disappeared in Veracruz, is found dead; Stepmother arrested

Yesenia Lilian, a 13-year-old high school student who was reported missing in Coatzacoalcos, was found dead in Veracruz.
The Veracruz State Search Commission issued an alert about the disappearance of the teenager on December 3. However, on Sunday, his body was found abandoned in a vacant lot on Faisanes Street, in the Santa Isabel II neighborhood.
According to the newspaper Milenio, Yesenia Lilian had left her house for the store, but did not return. He said it was the girl’s grandmother who identified her.

The prosecutor of Veracruz, Verónica Hernández, reported that there are two detainees in the case: a man and a woman, the latter stepmother of the teenager.
In an interview, he attributed the fact to “a passionate issue”, despite the fact that the investigations are just beginning, revictimizing the teenager.

“There are two detainees, a woman who turns out to be her stepmother, allegedly responsible for the death of the minor, with a male, who was the one who allegedly helps her,” he said.
Case of Rosa Isela in Veracruz
This Sunday, the Prosecutor’s Office of Veracruz reported that another case of a missing woman is Rosa Isela, a young pregnant woman who was also found dead.
The body of the young woman was found at the Los Arrieros ranch, in the town of Rancho del Padre, in the municipality of Medellín de Bravo. For this case, there are two detainees, a man and a woman, who are waiting for their hearing.
On Monday, the prosecutor reported that Rosa Iela’s baby is safe and sound, and hospitalized while she can be delivered to her father.
From January to October 2022, 62 femicides have been registered in Veracruz, according to figures from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System.
