They urge the population not to burn rockets at Christmas to avoid contingency

The Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis (CAMe) and the Secretariats of the Environment of Mexico City and the State of Mexico urged the population not to burn pyrotechnics, used tires or light fires at Christmas to avoid an environmental contingency on December 25.
He explained that the detonation of fireworks generates several types of pollutants, mostly ultrafine, which can have a significant impact on health.
In a statement, the CAMe warned that these pollutants may be concentrated in the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico (ZMVM) from the early hours of Sunday morning.

He explained that the air polluted by burning pyrotechnics can cause headaches, fatigue, watery and dry eyes, coughing, irritation of the throat, lungs, sinuses, shortness of breath and asthma attacks in the population.
The Commission recalled that on December 25 of the last seven years, in five of them concentrations of PM10 and / or PM2.5 particles were recorded, causing extremely poor air quality, affecting the health of the population.
Contingency recommendations
The CAMe recommended to the population that in case the air quality is very bad or extremely bad, follow the following recommendations:

Stay home with the windows closed, to prevent contaminated air from entering the home.
Avoid outdoor activities such as jogging or biking.
Keep an eye on the Air and Health Index of the monitoring station closest to your location.
Perform moderate or vigorous outdoor activities when the Index shows good or acceptable air quality.
In case you need to be outdoors, wear a mask.
It attends to the recommendations that the CAMe issues in case of activating atmospheric environmental contingency.
