Foreign Ministry files complaint with Public Ministry after leak of private conversation of Minister Urrejola

The Foreign Ministry filed a complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office after the leak of an audio of a private conversation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonia Urrejola, in which she questioned the ambassador of Argentina in Chile, Rafael Bielsa, after his statements following the unanimous rejection of the Committee of Ministers to the Dominga port mining project.
In that sense, from the ministry they maintained that “as is public knowledge, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonia Urrejola, accepted the resignation of the Director of Communications of this portfolio before the dissemination of an audio that contained a private conversation, recorded without the knowledge of the participants of the meeting. ”

Likewise, the Ministry of RR.EE. revealed that “after what happened, and as required by law to the high authorities, the Chancellor filed a complaint with the Public Ministry and requested Undersecretary Ximena Fuentes to instruct the opening of an administrative investigation. These actions were carried out today and are intended to clarify the facts and determine possible responsibilities.”
Aligning itself with what was expressed by the Argentine President, Alberto Fernández, and what President Boric said, the Foreign Ministry reaffirmed that after the impasse, “the bilateral relationship with Argentina continues on excellent terms.”
