Quarterback Tom Brady, the best player in the history of the National Football League (NFL), announced his definitive retirement from American football just one year after first announcing it.
“Good morning, guys, I will cut to the chase immediately: I retire forever. I know the process was a big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning I thought I’d press record and let them know first. I think you just get a super emotional retirement essay, and I used mine last year. So, really, thank you very much to everyone, to each one of you, for supporting me. My family, my friends, teammates, my competitors, I could go on forever, there are too many. Thank you, guys, for letting me live my absolute dream. I wouldn’t change anything. I love you all,” Brady said in a video posted on social media.
Brady is the player with the most Super Bowl rings won in league history with seven: 2002, 2004, 2005, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021. In addition, he was named MVP of the highest event in American football five times and of the NFL three times.
As for his career, he played for 20 seasons with the New England Patriots, while the last three were played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
