After Patricia Bullrich’s proposal to go to Rosario with the Army, which generated the response of the ruling party, Sabina Frederic – former Minister of National Security – said that “we must give place to the federal forces.” Rosario’s rising crime rate is increasingly worrying the authorities, and accompanying a systematic increase in street violence. Faced with this problem, Frederic said that “the Santa Fe Police in some neighborhoods must be removed from the streets and given place to the federal forces.” Likewise, the former Minister of Security remarked that “the other element that must be taken into account is the absence of the Santa Fe police in Rosario.” On the other hand, he explained that the drug market “is not the only problem,” and assured that “we must review the way in which violence is explained and diagnosed in Rosario. You have to be careful to say that the only problem is police training.” Previously, Bullrich, leader of Together for Change (JxC), promised that “if I have to govern the country, I am convinced to go to Rosario with all the federal forces. We are also thinking about changing the laws so that the Army can accompany.”
