EFE announced the suspension of the Biotrén service on line 2 from Juan Pablo II to Coronel for this Saturday, February 25, due to the installation of a modular platform in the first mentioned station.
The General Manager of EFE Sur, Nelson Hernández, told Biobío Chile that the structure that will be installed is designed to “give more fluidity and dynamism to the entry and exit of passengers at this transfer station, make the transfer process more efficient to the buses that complete the route to Concepción.”
This suspension would aim to improve the service before the massive arrival of passengers that is projected for March for the return of vacation.
This was indicated by Hernández: “the remodeled Juan Pablo II Station will be operational immediately from this Monday, February 27 and is designed to receive 45 thousand daily passengers that we plan to have from March, allowing us to deliver a better service to our passengers and in safer conditions. ”
“All these works that we are doing are aimed at increasing transport capacity, reducing passenger waiting times and making the service more efficient in the March contingency,” he concluded.
