Bachelet did not arrive at family mediation center and Compagnon asks for new hearing for alimony

Former President Michelle Bachelet was not required to attend a mediation hearing, following a lawsuit filed by Natalia Compagnon on behalf of her grandchildren; children of Sebastián Dávalos Bachelet.
The hearing was scheduled for this Saturday, March 4, at 10:00 a.m., at the Family Mediation Center of Providencia. It was going to be the first of two instances in which the former president and her ex-daughter-in-law would coincide, after failing to reach an agreement between the parties and sealing a regime without the intervention of courts.

From Bachelet’s environment they explained that this type of appointments are not mandatory for third parties, so the president can be absent without reprisals, being only a guest to intercede in the judicial dispute between Dávalos and Compagnon.
“The former president will not intervene in the mediation between the responsible parties; he trusts that they can find a solution that benefits everyone in a friendly way,” sources close to former President Bachelet said, according to La Tercera. In short, because Dávalos is outside the country, the former president was summoned.
After the frustrated hearing, Compagnon’s lawyer, Alejandra Borda assured the aforementioned media that her client requested a second mediation appointment with the grandmother of her children. Natalia, meanwhile, left the place without giving statements to the press.
