Know the program that the Book and Rose Festival 2023 will have in the Secum venues

Morelia, Michoacán.- The Ministry of Culture of Michoacán (Secum) announced the activities that will be carried out in its cultural venues, as part of the Book and Rose Festival 2023, headed by the Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), to be held from April 28 to 30 of this year, in Morelia, Zamora, Pátzcuaro and Jiquilpan, they said in a statement.
The head of the unit, Tamara Sosa Alanís, highlighted the importance of coordinated work with the education sector to strengthen access to books, form reading communities and favor spaces for dialogue so that the writers of Michoacán share their experiences and know those of other people who create, in addition to reading being an important instrument for the prevention of violence.
The head of the Research Unit on Cultural and Social Representations of the Coordination of Humanities UNAM, Mariana Masera, said that this edition is called “The route of desires”, with the Kingdom of Morocco as a guest country and Alberto Ruy Sánchez the honored writer.
In addition to the economic contribution, the Secum will support the activities at the Regional Center of the Arts in Michoacán, located in Zamora, on Friday 28 at 12:00 the reading of the poem Reincarnations by Yenny Londoño will be transmitted, and on Saturday 29 at 11:30 hours the book Territorial Development in Mexico will be presented. Empirical evidence. On the same day at 5:00 p.m., reading capsules of the book The Bread of War will be transmitted.
In the Cultural Center Antiguo Colegio Jesuita, located in Pátzcuaro, on Friday 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., there will be presentations of books, records, fanzines, talks and poetry readings.
