Gerardo Morales took aim at the government: “Massa is leaving and this explodes”

Gerardo Morales is the current governor of the province of Jujuy gave an interview with journalist Florencia Carbone in his program “Political Kitchen”, there he held his candidacy for president for the Radical Civic Union party and in turn made a reading of the current situation of the country. Morales said that his party is going through a good stage of dialogue, and “the idea is to unify a candidacy for the Radical Civic Union.” Then he pointed out against the situation of the country and particularly with the government of Alberto Fernández: “The country is very bad, and we cannot be coiled like the Frente de Todos in the internal fight, we have to focus on governing for the Argentines, solving the problems that the Frente de Todos has not been able to solve and that they have generated. ” Morales also stated that: “Having integrated formulas is what guarantees a coalition government and that we lacked between 2015 and 2019” and then continued: “Unlike what happens with the Frente de Todos, there was a leadership, Mauricio Macri led”, he also added that “the country needs strong leadership and a president with character, Alberto Fernández is the opposite of that, it has been a frustration for the Argentine people.” In reference to Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, the governor of Jujuy said: “She has the maximum responsibility. First he put it to Alberto, then when he wanted he did not let him govern or criticized him being part of the government, “in addition he described Alberto Fernandez as “inept” and said that this government is the “most inoperative” he has ever seen. In turn, Morales also took aim at Javier Milei and said he was “a totally deranged madman.” Regarding the current economic situation, the UCR presidential candidate said: “Six months before the hyper of ’89, inflation was 6.4. Now it was 8.4%, here is a trigger and we have hyper” and later announced: “Massa is leaving and this explodes”. At the end of the interview, Morales said that if he were to become president, one of the objectives is that in a year there will be only one exchange rate. Morales has not yet defined who his economy minister would be, although he mentioned that Eduardo Levy Yeyatti is one of the people working on his team.
