Rock and Roll icon Tina Turner Dies at 83

“Tina Turner, the ‘Queen of Rock’n Roll,’ died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness at her home in Kusnacht, near Zurich, Switzerland,” her agent said in the statement. “With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model”Completed. The artist who popularized several hits throughout her history was diagnosed in 2016 with intestinal cancer and received a kidney transplant in 2017.La world-known star had her beginnings in the industry in the 60’s when together with her husband Ike Turner, they formed the duo Ike & Tina Turner, The marriage dissolved in 1978 due to constant physical and emotional abuse by her husband.  Nonetheless, Tina became the “Queen of Rock and Roll” and left behind big hits “Proud Mary,” “Nutbush City Limits,” “River Deep, Mountain High,” and the hits she had in the ’80s, including “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” “We Don’t Need Another Hero,” and “Private Dancer.” In his long musical career he sold more than 150 million records, won 12 Grammys, and entered the Hall of Fame in 2021. Also in 2005 she was honored at the Kennedy Center with Beyoncé and Oprah.In 2021 HBO + released the documentary “Tina” that reconstructs the tortuous personal life and fascinating artistic career in Turner’s own voice that tells her story from an interview.
