Michoacán Primero forms its State Political Council and Executive Committee

Morelia, Michoacán.- The new local political party, Michoacán Primero, held its First State Assembly, in which it officially named its State Political Council and its Executive Committee, made up of 32 Michoacán men and women, headed by the State President, José Antonio Plaza Urbina, and the Secretary General, Miriam Alarcón Ramos, with the aim of making the entity a land of peace and prosperity.
“We are building a different and better way for Michoacanos. Today, May 28, we take our first steps by reaffirming our ideals, improving our standards and giving face and hands to this task. We have a goal and a route: this political party was born to make Michoacan a land of peace and prosperity, “said the leader in his first message before a large attendance of delegates, militants and their families on Sunday morning at the Colegio de Morelia.
By unanimous vote during the First Ordinary Assembly, the State Political Council was formed by: María de Jesús Hinojosa, from Parácuaro; Beatriz Alzate Cruz, from Senguio; María Margarita Juárez Yeo, from Tlalpujahua; Petra Barajas López, from Tepalcatepec; Araceli Pineda Salazar, of Morelia; Lorena Santibañez Pineda, of Morelia; Raquel Mejia Campos, of Penjamillo; Angela Villanueva Figueroa, from Tingambato; Brenda Farfan Juarez, of Coeneo; Antonina González Leandro, from Tzintzuntzan.

Additionally, and in compliance with the guidelines of the Electoral Institute of Michoacán (IEM), the Special Assembly was held that approved modifications to the General Statutes, the Declaration of Principles and the Program of Action of the Michoacán Primero Political Party. These amendments strengthen its internal regulations and guarantee the right to equality between men and women within the party.
It is important to remember that, according to the resolution of the IEM, Michoacán Primero will enter into functions as a Local Political Party from this first of July, having more than 11 thousand militants recognized by the electoral body, from the more than 13 thousand who granted their affiliation of support, which is above the 9 thousand 311 signatures that were officially required to complete the registration.
To conclude, Antonio Plaza called for revitalizing Michoacan’s stagnant political landscape that keeps citizens in rejection and apathy.
“While our country is polarized and party leaders engage in sterile confrontations, poverty increases, violence does not subside, corruption persists and the environment degrades. That is why it is necessary to articulate a political force that influences to change this reality that afflicts us today. Our purpose is very clear: to put Michoacan first.”
