The strong story of Fernanda Vives after the conviction of Tota Santillán: “You are wounded for life”

Court No. 7 sentenced Ricardo Daniel Carías, mostly known as “Tota Santillán” to 5 years and 6 months in prison for assaulting the mother of two of his daughters. His ex-wife, Sol Fiasche and a former domestic worker, were the ones who denounced him. Prosecutor Oscar Ciruzzi spoke before Judge Alejandro Noceti Achával and considered that the music producer is responsible for the crimes of “aggravated threats by the use of weapons, illegitimate deprivation of liberty aggravated by being a spouse and aggravated minor injuries.” Fernanda Vives, who was Tota Santillan’s partner during the years 2000 and 2008, in dialogue with Angel De Brito in the program “LAM”, recounted situations of violence that he lived with the accused: “In court I was eight hours declaring and it was difficult for me to speak” and then explained: “When I spoke they were prescribed facts. I spoke in 2017 and told facts from 2005. I did it because I thought I could draw a line in what the girls who denounced it in 2016 were experiencing.” He also commented on a meeting they had some years ago face to face in Mar del Plata: “I went to look for him at the pedestrian street in Mar del Plata. I told Sebastian to stay there. I needed to have a face-to-face for two seconds, I needed to have him in front of me and tell him everything I thought. I remember that I lowered my chinstrap, I had it there half a meter away. I told him everything. I insulted him, said ‘Why did you hurt me so much?’ He would look at me and my husband would say ‘calm down’. He wanted to get me out because I had lost consciousness of where I was, if they could be recording me, “said the ex-partner of Tota Santillán.With respect to the victims of gender violence, Vives points out that: “You are wounded for life, the victims who went through this … We are in prison for life, really, the victims who go through this… You have a scar left inside, I swear you can’t explain it.” The LAM driver commented that Santillan justifies his drug addiction for the crimes committed. However, Vives said: “I never saw him get high, whenever he shit on pineapples he did it in an absolutely conscious state.” Angel de Brito told Vives: “Imagine someone of the texture of the Tota, which is huge, hit a girl like you who are small, with a pineapple could kill you.” To which she recalled and told a situation where Santillan dragged her from the bathroom shower to the door of the house. “It is necessary to tell details so that they no longer give him a place to be victimized by anything. Today, thank God, a little justice was done,” concluded the actress.
