Google Maps: Emblematic sites of Buenos Aires come to the immersive view

Today, Google Maps expands its “Immersive View” functionality to new cities and incorporates emblematic sites thanks to the development of Artificial Intelligence so that all people can have a more immersive and intuitive experience when discovering and exploring the world. Currently, all Google Maps users – on iOS and Android – can travel with the “Immersive View” the cities of London, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Tokyo. Starting this month, you can also visit virtually and in three dimensions Amsterdam, Dublin, Florence and Venice and access more than 500 iconic places around the world, including various points of Buenos Aires: Casa Rosada, Teatro Colón, Obelisk, Palacio Barolo, National Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires, Monumental Tower, Mariano Moreno National Library, Islamic Cultural Center Custodian of the Two Sacred Mosques King Fahd, and Museum of Water and Sanitary History – Palacio de Aguas Corrientes. There are also cities such as Santiago de Chile (Chile) with sites such as La Moneda Palace, Metropolitan Cathedral of Santiago de Chile, National Museum of Fine Arts, and Guadalajara, Mexico City and Zapopan (Mexico) with National Museum of Anthropology, Palace of Fine Arts and Chapultepec Castle, among many more. In this way, those who want to know these sites can become familiar with the buildings, streets and the appearance of the city in an easy and attractive way. For that, they will only have to search for them on Google Maps, click on the first available video and travel virtually to the construction to get a sense of the area with an impressive multidimensional representation. This functionality uses the full potential of AI and computer vision technology to merge billions of Street View imagery and aerial photography to create a digital model of the world. In turn, it adds useful information about the weather, traffic, and how busy a place is, to virtually explore a site and feel like you’re there before you even visit. BONUS TRACK. On the other hand, Google Maps presents two new updates of its functionalities. First of all, “Glanceable Directions” is incorporated that allows you to track a trip directly from the lock screen or route overview, without entering the full navigation mode. These indications will begin to be implemented this month globally for the “walking”, “cycling” and “car” modes on iOS and Android.Secondly, new features are released for the “Recents” tab available in the desktop version. This tool, which facilitates the organization of places that were visited in the last time, from June will allow you to save prominent places to review, even after having closed Maps; sort sites and destinations from A to Z; remove places that have already been seen; and the ability to share a selection of attractions with others. Likewise, you can select three or more points of interest and with the “request directions” button create a route with stops to each chosen place, which will be saved in this tab.
