Eleven Argentine universities are among the most prestigious in the world

Eleven Argentine universities, including four public ones, were highlighted among the most prestigious in the world according to the twelfth edition of the international ranking released by the consulting firm Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), specialized in the analysis of higher education at an international level. Of the almost 24,000 universities in the world, this ranking evaluates the 1,000 most outstanding and influential institutions of higher education globally with the aim of providing the academic community with a detailed report of each house of higher studies. Among other parameters, it considers the global reputation of the employer and academic; teaching ability; research prowess; internationalization; employability and sustainability. “At the level of indicators, Argentine institutions obtain the best results in QS measurement of class size and availability of resources,” the analysis found. The National University of Buenos Aires (UBA) is ranked number 95 and achieved an outstanding performance by ranking among the top 20 world-renowned according to international employers, they highlighted. This keeps it in “the TOP 100 world uninterruptedly since 2015” and erects it in “the only public, massive, research-intensive and free house of higher studies to reach this position,” they said. After the UBA, there are the Argentine Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina (514); Universidad Austral (520); University of Palermo (530); National University of La Plata (540); University of Belgrano (between 761 and 770); Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires ITBA (791-800); San Andrés University (801-850); Di Tella University (851-900); and the national universities of Córdoba and Rosario (951-1000).
