“Migration” (“Patos”, in its translation in Latin America), the new film from Illumination Studios and Universal (“Sing”), released its first trailer, which follows a clan of birds that decide to leave their home behind to venture to see the world. Directed by Benjamin Renner (the French filmmaker director of “The Evil Ferocious Fox”, “Ernest and Célestine”, films that achieved good reviews in the country), it develops the story of the Mallard family, which “is a bit stuck”, literally in New England. The trailer begins by introducing the characters: a father (Mack) who is “content to keep his family safe” -as detailed in the synopsis-, a mother (Pam) eager to travel other areas, and her teenage son (Dax) and youngest daughter (Gwen). “After a family of migratory ducks perch on their pond with exciting stories from remote places, Pam convinces Mack to embark on a family trip, through New York City, to tropical Jamaica. As wild ducks head south to spend the winter, their well-laid plans quickly go awry. The experience will inspire them to expand their horizons, open up to new friends, and achieve more than they ever thought possible, while learning more about others, and about themselves, than they ever imagined.” Migration” was written by Mike White, creator of “The White Lotus,” who is working on its third season. While the cast is made up of recognized talents such as Danny DeVito (who heads the remake of “The Haunted Mansion”), Kumail Nanjiani (“Eternals”), Elizabeth Banks (“Cocaine Bear”) and especially Awkwafina (who comes from his performance as the seagull Scuttle in the live action remake of “The Little Mermaid”, after collaborating with his voice in another Disney film, “Raya and the Last Dragon”).” Super Mario Bros”, is the “Migration” is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 22, in a year that Illumination (“Despicable Me”, “The Secret Life of Your Pets”) comes from presenting “Super Mario Bros” (with the voices of Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black and Seth Rogen) and its box office success, which exceeded 1,000 million dollars of collection and stands as the second highest grossing animated film in history (after “Frozen 2”), which remains in Argentine theaters more during these winter holidays.
