Executive projects for sanitation works of the Douro River advance

Morelia, Michoacán.- In October of this year, it is planned to start works on the first infrastructure package for the sanitation of the Duero River, said Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, as reported in a statement.
In a meeting with the winning company of the bidding process, the president reported that between August and September the executive projects of the three collectors for the municipalities of Ixtlan, Chilchota and Tangancícuaro, as well as the wastewater treatment plant in Zamora, should be completed.
He recalled that this hydraulic infrastructure is part of the package of multi-year investment works, promoted by the Government of Michoacán, for the benefit of more than 300,000 inhabitants and agricultural producers who use water from the tributary for farmland.

He commented that the investment for this first stage of the project is 420 million pesos for the construction of 7.45 kilometers of collectors in Ixtlan, Chilchota and Tangancícuaro, in addition to the treatment plant in the northern area of Zamora to expand the capacity from 170 liters per second to 192.
The governor said that at the end of all stages of the sanitation project of the Duero River basin, 10 municipalities will benefit: Pajacuarán, Ixtlan, Chavinda, Tangamandapio, Jacona, Zamora, Tlazazalca, Tangancícuaro, Chilchota and Purépero.
