Mexico. – Medications should always be taken before the expiration date stated on the packaging.
If you accidentally take an expired medication for a mild disorder such as a cold or headache, in the worst case it will not work.
On the other hand, if it is an essential medicine for the treatment of a serious or chronic disease, you should consult your professional, since the potential lack of efficacy could harm health.
The expiry date can be seen on the packaging of all medicines and indicates the end of the period in which their efficacy and safety are guaranteed, provided that it has been stored under appropriate conditions of temperature, light and humidity.

In general, solid medications, such as tablets or capsules, are the most stable. Liquid forms such as syrups, especially reconstituted ones, eye drops or injectables present more stability problems. You should use special caution with injectable medications and you should never inject a cloudy solution, whether expired or not.
