Apatzingán, Michoacán.- With the operation of eight packages and the cutting of 300 tons of Mexican lemon, the recovery of the industry began in the municipality of Apatzingán, said the Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development, Cuauhtémoc Ramírez Romero, they reported in a statement.
He considered that this action shows that institutional actions aimed at giving security to workers, as well as to citrus producers, are working.
In the same line of support for the lemon industry, the head of the Sader stressed that, in coordination with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and the National Service of Health, Safety and Agrifood Quality (Senasica), activities have been initiated to constitute the Local Board of Plant Health of Apatzingán.
With this, he said, establish in the short term, phytosanitary control measures in the mobilization of the plant and in the residues of the harvest, such as the branches, to avoid the spread of pests and diseases typical of citrus “this we will have to be starting already in the field in the coming days,” he concluded.
