CURP proposes to have photo and fingerprint

The senators proposed that CURP have a photograph, fingerprint and signature, a situation that would greatly complement this document so necessary for any procedure.
In the joint commissions of Governance and Legislative Studies, second of the upper house, they repealed the General Population Law published in 1974 and issued a new one, which establishes that the Unique Population Registry Code (CURP) will have a photograph of the face, fingerprints, signature and place of birth.
In addition, it will be the Ministry of the Interior who issues the CURP with photo; This agency will verify the data related to the identity of the people by comparing the data provided by the citizens with those contained in the files of the dependencies and entities of the Federal Public Administration.

Senator Miguel Angel Manera, of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), explained that the states were ignored, which should be part of population policies and showed that it is not explained, as required by law, what purpose the Registry has.
