Morelia, Michoacán. – The Garden of the Soterraña is located between the streets of Andrés Quintana Roo and Guerrero, this place dates from the late nineteenth century, is one block from the temple of Christ the King.
The name “Soterraña” arises because in the adjacent temple an image of the virgin was worshiped that, according to one of the popular versions, was found underground; there is another story that states that the virgin was buried to hide it and protect it from the clashes during the period of the War of Independence.
