Besares Foundation Presents Financing Lines for Independent Artists

The Besares Foundation will introduce funding programs for independent artists. The initiative will be directed by the cultural manager Manuela Van Den Broeck and the engineer and music producer Francisco Stuart Milne -both Argentines living in Berlin-.On the one hand, they will announce the “Disco Solidario” project, which represents a unique opportunity for musicians from Buenos Aires: it allows financing the recording, mixing and mastering of their albums; In addition, they teach music and composition classes for a semester in school support houses in poor neighborhoods. At the same time, the “Berlin Residencies” program seeks to foster meaningful connections between Argentine and Berlin musicians, promoting collaborations that transcend borders and unite musical traditions. Supported by the Berlin Music Commission, it offers opportunities such as tours, recording sessions and workshops for Argentinian musicians who have recently arrived in Berlin.Both programs through music reflect the vision of the Besares Foundation, which in the words of Francisco Stuart Milne: “It is about rethinking the role of the musician and his work, because beyond social needs there are also the needs of musicians to find different ways of giving themselves meaning in the world and give meaning to their music. It’s a way to make it sustainable and to be able to produce a high-quality record.
