Movimiento Ciudadano ready to be the first opposition force in Michoacán: Toño Carreño – MonitorExpresso.com

Morelia, Michoacán.- Movimiento Ciudadano is ready to be the first opposition force in Michoacán, said the state coordinator, Toño Carreño Sosa, while ratifying that a total of 36 registrations for pre-candidacies for local deputies and 80 for municipal presidencies were validated, they reported in a statement.
In a press conference, he indicated that it will be in March that the candidates will be defined and then the registrations will be made before the electoral body, so those numbers will vary, given that the intention is to compete in the 112 municipalities and in the 24 districts.
It was personal situations that prevented in some cases those interested in registering as pre-candidates from attending the party’s headquarters and the statutes are clear in the sense that registration must take place in person.
Toño Carreño expressed his confidence that citizens trust the Orange Wave, because of the experience they have in working for the benefit of it and in state and national development.
For this reason, he added, there is interest in running under the acronym of the Citizens’ Movement, sure that headed by Jorge Álvarez Máynez, the country will be painted orange, to do things well, unlike governments that have left much to owe to the citizens.
In the districts and municipalities where registrations were not received, talks will be held with the militants, but also with citizens interested in participating, to run for a greater number of municipalities.
Toño Carreño acknowledged that there are very focused areas, where crime is unsustainable and it is where the participation or not of candidates for Movimiento Ciudadano will be evaluated, because the main thing is the integrity of all Michoacans and in that, the authorities have also left us to owe.
Although he clarified that so far there have been no reports of pre-candidates who have been intimidated by crime.
However, he recalled, the treacherous murder of the municipal coordinator of Jacona, Miriam Ríos, remains unsolved, so he urged that the corresponding authorities can speed up the work to find those responsible.
