Former presidential candidate for Peronism admitted that his electoral political cycle is over

The new Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports, Daniel Scioli, spoke for the first time after being appointed to the post by President Javier Milei, whom he said months ago he had known for “many years”. In addition, Néstor Kirchner’s former vice president admitted that his electoral political cycle is over and gave his arguments to accompany the liberal-libertarian economist. The position at the head of the secretariat was offered by his friend and interior minister, Guillermo Francos, although he quickly found good dialogue with the president, whom in the past he called “the face of the cruelest liberalism.” From Peronism they reproach him for his arrival in the national government and he responds to them: “What catches your attention? Want to help? That I come and commit myself at a difficult time for the country? I’ve never been seen as indifferent and I can’t be. I want to commit myself to help tourism, to help neighborhood clubs, to open up a modern environmental agenda.” These are the first statements of the new secretary and former presidential candidate of Union for the Fatherland.Scioli repeats that he is only looking for helpHe remembers that the first words he said to the president were: “This moment reminds me of when I was bleeding after the accident on the boat, at that moment the doctors had to intervene urgently, They had to save me, stop the bleeding, and stabilize me. Then came my recovery.” And Milei replied: “What a good metaphor”, and they went on to talk about the area that Daniel Scioli will occupy and the next announcements that may be made this week to encourage domestic tourism for long weekends. Scioli admits that his electoral political cycle is over. Scioli admits that his electoral political cycle is over. But it wasn’t now, but when he didn’t find the conditions when he wanted to compete on an internal list for the presidency last year, the same election in which, if he found the conditions, he would compete against Javier Milei. He repeats ad nauseam in the face of successive questions about why he landed in the government of La Libertad Avanza, which only comes to help and that does so without any kind of personal political aspiration, since the easiest thing would have been to stay as ambassador to Brazil. However, some leader of the Union for the Homeland let it be known that the president of the neighboring country, Luiz Inácio “Lula” da Silva, would not sign his placet because he had agreed to continue in office under the leadership of Milei, although before the holidays, the president announced that he had accepted Scioli as Argentina’s ambassador in Brasilia. The former governor assures that their bond is still intact and that this new role allows him to continue in contact.  When he hears Peronist leaders criticize his leap, he gets annoyed: “There is a lot of hypocrisy, count how many Peronists there are in the government. Grab a pen and paper and make the list. I put my face at least,” he said in dialogue with Profile in what were his first statements after the appointment.” But in the campaign you were against a possible government of Javier Milei,” he heard these days. To which he replies that he never referred to the libertarian candidate in personal terms and that he never campaigned against, but in favor of, Argentina either. He insists that he will now also work for the country. Daniel Scioli made official his arrival at the head of the Ministry of Tourism, Environment and SportsGuillermo Francos made his arrival official on Tuesday and since then he has been in charge of the portfolio. After passing through the Casa Rosada, he held meetings in different buildings, since his secretariat encompasses what until the government of Alberto Fernández were two ministries. “My office is on the street,” he says when asked what office he will occupy under an area that depends on the Ministry of the Interior.Scioli is convinced that the government will be able to get out of this moment of “hemorrhaging” as he described it to Milei and assures that one of his areas will be key. He talks about tourism and recalls his time in the same secretariat between 2001 and 2003. He reviews how from that place he was able to help the reactivation of Argentina.
