The Government announced that the tasks of INADI will be transferred to the Ministry of Justice

As part of its plan to reduce the State, the national government announced on Thursday the “definitive closure” of the National Institute against Discrimination, Xenophobia and Racism (INADI). In this regard, the Government reported that the tasks currently carried out by INADI will become part of the Ministry of Justice, since “it has personnel prepared to carry out the task effectively”. In addition, he announced that “the qualified personnel who work in Inadi and who carry out their work with responsibility and commitment, will be transferred to the Ministry where they will work with order, seriousness and suitability”, while Minister Mariano Cúneo Libarona affirmed that “it is a priority of this Ministry to take care of in a very efficient way any person who suffers any type of discrimination, xenophobia and/or racism.” You may also be interested in: “The opposition warned that in order to close INADI the government ‘must do it by law”‘”We are taking the first steps to advance in the dismantling of different institutes that are either useless, are political boxes or generate militant employment. So we began to move forward with the definitive closure of INADI,” said presidential spokesman Manuel Adorni. According to official information, the agency has around 400 employees and dozens of offices across the country. “We would love for it to be closed today,” the spokesperson stressed, but regretted that administrative issues are delaying the process. “We are not going to continue financing the political thread or places where political favors are paid or where there are hundreds or dozens of hierarchical positions that add nothing to a country that is impoverished and where we cannot make people continue to support these types of issues with their taxes,” he emphasized. We also reduced the number of useless rentals, conceived for political purposes, unrelated to the work of the agency, and we terminated several contracts. “All this will result in savings for the State and society,” the statement concluded.
