Vidal criticized the fight for co-participation: “Argentines cannot be held hostage”

In the midst of the controversial disagreement over the co-participation that generated cross-attacks between the ruling party and the governor of Chubut, Ignacio Torres, who received the support of many leaders of the political arc, María Eugenia Vidal said that “Argentines cannot be held hostage to an argument between the governors and the president.” As a result of the disagreement over resources, various political spaces reacted to express their position on the matter. For his part, Vidal did not take a position, but maintained that “Argentina is in a very dramatic moment and poverty is growing more and more, inflation has been very high,” and added that “today all Argentines face this situation that there is no money.” The important thing is not to discuss who is right, but that Argentines cannot be held hostage to an argument between the governors and the president. Behind these discussions there are Chubutans and Argentines who are having a hard time. They have to be up to the task,” he remarked in dialogue with Fernando González for País Adolescente.Along these lines, he pointed out that “so far the zero deficit is a path, but without an agreement with the provinces; It is important to have a fiscal pact that validates this zero deficit to know the percentage that will go to the provinces.” Likewise, Vidal stressed that “it is not the same the governor who administers well or badly and it is not all the same in terms of the commitment of the governors to their provinces.” We don’t have to stop at the case of Chubut. We have to ask ourselves, if inflation is the main problem, what are we going to do to solve it,” he added. On the other hand, Vidal rejected a union between La Libertad Avanza (LLA) and the PRO. “Today we have other urgencies and 2025 is a long way off: it is not the time to make alliances. Electoral agreements can wait, but I do believe that it is time to see that all of us who think alike can agree on the direction and values,” he said.
