The Province of Buenos Aires agreed to a 9.5% salary increase for state-owned workers

The Province of Buenos Aires agreed with state workers on a new wage increase of 9.5% for the month of April, which includes a commitment to reopen negotiations in May. Present were the authorities of the unions that represent the staff of the Buenos Aires Public Administration and the teachers’ unions that, according to the statement, “took it to the consideration of the rank and file.” The Minister of Economy of the Province, Pablo López, said: “We are in a context in which the economic situation has been deteriorating notoriously due to the policies applied by the Government of Javier Milei.” “Each new indicator confirms a deep recession, which is advancing with a speed rarely seen, and that affects provincial tax resources; which is aggravated by the non-transfer of mandatory non-automatic resources by the Nation,” said López.In addition, the agreement contemplates an increase in the Family Income brackets, which give the right to receive family allowances, in relation to this new percentage increase. The same increase will be applied to the income cap that excludes the family group from the collection of allowances, being determined at $1,766,240.
