Morelia, Mich.- Within the municipality of Tiquicheo there were irregularities regarding the vote that to this day have not been able to be resolved, making this the only municipality where the corresponding calculations have not been carried out. The whereabouts of these minutes are held by the leaders of the parties, the electoral body and others are in the municipality within the IEM committee to this day, according to Memo Valencia. The state leader of the PRI mentioned that part of the conflict occurred when the results of the elections came in, which did not end up pleasing them, “some people did not like that and certain violent actions were carried out against the members of the municipal committee to try to force them to modify the result.” The leader even pointed out that there are threats to representatives and even to himself for this case. In that municipality of Michoacán, there were different events related to security that have influenced the counting of the votes, “the necessary sanctions have not been given to those who have obstructed the course of democracy, because this was going to continue happening in other municipalities,” said the leader. Memo spoke of the position that the IEM has taken, “within how hermetic everything has been, there has been a lack of decision and action by the electoral body, the Electoral Institute has been ignorant and first asserted the rule of law, also the state government with all the public force could have recovered those ballots, to do the calculation here in Morelia as was done with the case of Ocampo.”
