Morelia, Michoacán.- Five people were shot inside the business “Monumental Cervecería y Crudería”, located in the Morelia neighborhood of Nueva Valladolid, police authorities reported, adding that two of the aggrieved died and the rest were badly injured. Among the victims are an element of the Civil Guard (GC) and an employee of the Morelia City Council, sources close to the matter indicated. The establishment in question is located on the corner of Nicolás de los Palacios Rubios and Juan de Alvarado streets, a few meters from the La Monumental Bullring. The act of violence happened during the early hours of this Friday. It transpired that the now affected people lived in the place, who at that time were already the only customers of the business, which was about to close, but suddenly some gunmen entered, opened fire on the aforementioned and escaped. Consecutively, some citizens reported the shooting inside the aforementioned building, so some patrolmen came, who upon arrival found two men shot dead, as well as three injured, one of them female. The uniformed officers cordoned off the area and alerted the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE). Likewise, paramedics helped the survivors and channeled them to a hospital for proper medical attention, patients who respond to the names of: Brenda Berenice, 32 years old, she was seen with an impact on the left calf; Yair L., 34, a highway agent of the GC, who suffered a bullet graze on the finger of his left hand; and Carlos Alberto, 32, who suffered an impact on the left elbow. Specialists from the Expert Services and Crime Scene Unit (USPEC) arrived at the scene of the attack, who began the respective investigations and transferred the bodies to the morgue for the practice of the mandatory autopsy. Finally, it was learned that one of the interfects was identified as Imer Hiram and/or Jarin L., a worker of the Morelia City Council. The other deceased remains unknown. The Prosecutor’s Office continues with the proceedings of the case to clarify it. The motive for the attack is unknown. Approximately 40 .9-millimeter caliber shell casings were scattered on the floor of the brewery.
